The ACT Government has prepared a Draft Master Plan for the Tuggeranong Town Park to guide its future development and create a more interesting, welcoming and vibrant space. The second Key Community Stakeholder consultation is being held today at the Tuggeranong Town Library Wednesday 13 February between 1.30 pm and 3 pm.

The draft master plan will be on display and you are encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback to the consultant and Territory and Municipal Services staff before it is finalised. The Tuggeranong Skatepark is part of this.

A public drop-in session will also be held 16 February 2013 where the draft Master Plan will be on display and the wider community will be invited to comment.  The draft Master Plan is also be available on the TAMS website via the following link:

FREE Streetwise Learn to skateboard clinic 10am – 12pm this Saturday 9 Feb at Tuggeranong Skatepark. Boards and safety gear provided!

This Saturday is the last Streetwise Learn to Skateboard clinic to run from 9am -11am. It will be at Tuggeranong Skatepark with coaches Dave and Ranga!

Next week our Summer program starts. It’s jam packed with exciting developments! Clinics will start a little later at 10am – 12pm, and we have a number of double clinics (morning AND afternoon sessions) occurring at Belconnen Skatepark in the new year.

Consultation has been occurring in various areas of Canberra to put together “Master Plans” that forecast potential options that can then be rolled out in years to come. Some of these areas have skateparks in them including Erindale and Weston Creek.

The Tuggeranong and Erindale master plans have been endorsed by the ACT Government. The skatepark in Tuggeranong is going to be included as a separate process and no further consultation is occurring at this stage. The Erindale skatepark is planned to be demolished in the 5 year plan and a new skatepark area has been allocated – this is all hypothetical at this stage.
